1.) What is in Bend?
Bend is located on the edge of the Ponderosa pine forest on the west as it transitions into the high desert plateau, characterized by junipers, sagebrush, bitter-brush, and little water. Originally a logging town, Bend has become identified as a jump-off point for multiple outdoor sports; such as fishing, hiking, camping, rock climbing, skiing, and golf.

Wayne Lyman Morse (October 20, 1900 – July 22, 1974) was a United States Senator from Oregon from 1945 until 1969. He made a filibuster for 22 hours and 26 minutes in 1953 protesting the Tidelands Oil legislation, which at the time was the longest filibuster in Senate history.

Only one Oregon league has participated in the Little League World Series. Future major league pitcher Rick Wise led his Rose City Little League team from Portland to the 1958 Little League World Series quarterfinals.
